Terms of Service
Athena’s Palace is a game. These terms are the agreement between you and us about how it is played.
Who can play
- You must be at least 13 to hold an account. We ask for your year of birth before creating one, and if the answer is under 13 no account is made.
- Players under 18 can play, but cannot buy gold, receive gold from another player, take a seat at a poker table, or enter a pool that costs gold.
- If you tell us an age you do not have, we may close the account when we find out.
Gold has no cash value
Gold (denarii) is a game score. It is not money, not a currency, not credit, and not property. Specifically:
- Gold cannot be cashed out, redeemed, refunded as money, or converted into anything outside this world. There is no mechanism for this and we will not build one on request.
- Buying gold buys the ability to keep playing with it here, and nothing else.
- Gold, characters, items and accounts remain ours. You hold a personal, revocable licence to use them inside the game.
- If the world closes, gold ends with it. Do not treat it as savings.
Do not sell gold or accounts
You can send gold and trade goods with other players inside the game, because trading with people is part of the game. You may not:
- sell, buy, or exchange gold, items, or accounts for real money or anything of real-world value, anywhere, including off this site;
- advertise, broker, or run a service that does so;
- use the trade and gift features to settle a real-world payment.
We treat real-money trading as a serious breach. Accounts on either side of one may be closed and their gold removed without refund.
What you may not do
- Cheat, automate play, exploit bugs for gain, or interfere with other players' games.
- Use the chat, names, or any other surface to harass, threaten, or abuse anyone.
- Attack, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Hold more than one account to gain an advantage in anything competitive.
Purchases
Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card. A purchase grants what its listing describes, and nothing more. Because purchases are delivered immediately inside the game, they are final except where the law gives you a refund right or an app store's own policy applies. Prices and contents may change for future purchases.
Where this applies
Some places regulate games that involve chance, entry costs, or virtual currency differently. We may restrict or refuse access from a jurisdiction, and you may not use the service where doing so would break local law. You are responsible for the law where you are.
Ending things
You can stop at any time and delete your account through the account-deletion page. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. We can change or discontinue any part of the game.
No warranty, and limits
The game is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
If these terms change, the effective date above changes with them. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
